The opposition responds to the preliminary conclusion of the Venice Commission. According to the opposition members, the commission was rather strict in assessing the new document of the Constitution. Thethe opposition criticized the decision of the majority and noted that the transition to the proportional system in 2024 instead of 2020 was a major barrier during the dialogue with the majority.
According to them, this barrier is also mentioned in the Venice Commission`s report. They have once again criticized the majority for adjusting the Constitution to their own interests.
Levan Tarkhnishvili, member of the political council for "European Georgia - Movement for Freedom", says that the Venice Commission is quite critical in the preliminary conclusion.
"The report and opinions are very critical. Let"s recall what were two important issues. One is the decision-making processes and the second, the system of parliamentary elections. Both are sharply criticized, "- says Levan Tarkhnishvili.
