Eliso Kiladze, Editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Kronika Plus" accuses Georgian Dream of having double standards. In the newspaper, information about past activities of "Georgian Dream" Tbilisi.majoritarian MP candidates and their links were published
The information was about Davit Utmelidze`s activities in the Penitentiary Department of the Ministry of Justice till 2005 and another candidate Irakli Zarkua`s connections with Tbilisi mayoral candidate Kakhi Kaladze.
A special briefing was held in Kakhi Kaladze`s headquarters on this issue. Davit Utmelidze, the majoritarian MP candidate for "Georgian Dream" blamed journalists for spreading false information and stated that he did not work in the penitentiary department of the Ministry of Justice with Bacho Akhalaia because he was released earlier.
Eliso Kiladze claims that this fact was confirmed by former employees of Uthmelidze and notes that Bacho Akhalaia worked in the Penitentiary Department in 2005-2008. According to Kiladze, the ruling team has dual standards, because the list has people who used to cooperate with the regime, which is constantly criticizing the "Georgian Dream".
According to the article, majoritarian candidate of the ruling party candidate Irakli Zarkua was included in the list because he is a husband of Nino Zarkua,a close friend of Kaladze"s spouse Anuki Areshidze. Zarkua himself confirms this fact and says that he was recommended not only by Kaladze.
There are also convicted candidates in the list of "Georgian Dream", Levan Japaridze and Davit Ujmajuridze. According to the newspaper, they had recommendations of the leaders of the ruling team. In the list of nominees is husband of a pop-singer Sopho Bedia and yellow media star Mikheil Meskhi who was detained in Kutaisi for bribing voters in 2012.
