Noise and controversy at Batumi City Council session was caused by the transfer of land plots to the company related to Bidzina Ivanishvili . One part of the Batumi Botanical Garden was handed over to "Business Development" by direct sale and a part of the beach on the Black Sea coast was given for 49 years of enjoyment for free.

The opposition claims that Bidzina Ivanishvili will build a cableway for his own hotel.

In spite of the tension, Batumi City Council adopted a decision with 11 votes in favor. The opposition argues that this decision is illegal, since the transfer of the territories to the private person required votes of 17 MPs.

The opposition also protested that the process was going on in an accelerated manner.

According to Batumi City Council decision, 8000 sq.m. area was prepared for  transfer to the company related to Bidzina Ivanishvili.
