The President of Georgia will meet with opposition leaders. The main topic of discussion is a new project of the constitution. Representatives of 20 parties are expected at the Presidential Palace.

Members of "European Georgia" say that The democratic process in t5he country will be suspended for a long time, if Georgia will not move to the proportional electoral system from 2020.

" The whole oppositional spectrum agrees, we all witness the unprecedented unity and everyone knows what is the main issue,"- said Sergo Ratiani.

Nika Rurua, one of the leaders of United National Movement states that the ruling party"s offer is not serious and the President should veto all controversial issues.

" I doubt that there will be a consensus on the two issues because it is very unserious,"- Nika Rurua said.

The non-parliamentary opposition hopes that the president will not violate the agreement reached with the parties. The leaders of the parties still demand the abolition of the majoritarian system in 2020 and the preservation of the direct election of the president.
