A working meeting at President"s Palace is over. About 20 opposition parties discussed constitutional amendments with Giorgi Margvelashvili today.
The Opposition believes that the ruling party"s offer to use veto only on two issues is unacceptable.
"The Constitution should be people-oriented, balanced and reached through consensus. We"ll do everything for that. I am glad that the President is so actively involved in this issue, "Nika Rurua, a member of United National Movement said.
Opposition members hope that the president will not violate the agreement reached with political parties.
"I hope the decisions that we have taken together a few weeks ago will remain in force," said Levan Tarkhnishvili, member of "European Georgia".
According to the opposition, political parties and the president should do everything not to allow Georgian Dream to adopt a single-party constitution.
