Non-governmental organizations respond to the President`s remarks regarding constitutional amendments.

In a special statement, it is noted that the President`s offer to the ruling team gives the possibility toget out o the deadlock on constitutional amendments.

The appeal was signd by ten NGOs signed.

"The President of Georgia offered the ruling team a four-point agreement on constitutional amendments, which means: the abolition of bonus mandates,allowing of election blocks, the transition to the proportional electoral system in 2020, election of the President by the Parliament after it has two chambers.

"We believe that the president"s offer is a reasonable compromise and gives a chance to get out of the deadlock created in recent months around the constitutional reform,"- is said in the statement.

The civil sector calls on the Georgian Dream to discuss Giorgi Margvelashvili"s proposal and reveal political will to reach an agreement.
