NATO General Assembly to adopt special resolution on Georgia today

The NATO General Assembly will approve a special resolution on Georgia today. Secretary Generalof the Alliance will also participate in the session. The document prepared by German MP Ula Schmidt is about deterrance of Russia and the importance of strengthening the Black Sea security policy is discussed in this context.

The NATO Parliamentary Assembly condemns violation of territorial integrity of Georgia and Ukraine and calls on Russia to abolish the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia and end up attempts to intimidate and destabilize the situation.

The project confirms that Georgia and Ukraine will become member states of the alliance . The Alliance recognizes that Georgia`s membership will promote Atlantic security, including in the Black Sea region.
