Russian accusations - Georgia responds to Karasin"s accusations

The Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation calls on Georgia to fulfil its obligations taken under the Cargos Monitoring Agreement. The statement has been made by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia. Grigory Karasin has stated that Georgia wants Russia to adhere to the terms of the agreement unilaterally.

The agreement between Russia and Georgia was signed in 2011. According to to that, Russia, Georgia and Switzerland are obliged to control the cargos.

According to the representatives of the Georgian side, the case concerns the occupied territories where Georgian jurisdiction does not apply and Georgians can not enter the territory.

Gregory Karasin"s allegations are not clear for Victor Dolidze, Georgia"s State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration. Viktor Dolidze states that after the occupation, Russia must control the cargo turnover together with the Swiss company.

The allegations are unclear for Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality as well. She confirms that the Georgian side has already fulfilled its obligations.
