NATO Secretary General`s Special Representative recently addressed the participants of the Defense and Security Conference in Batumi. James Appathurai focused on the reforms carried out in Georgia and noted that it is important to continue. He also spoke about security issues in the region and noted that the Alliance will continue to support Georgia.
"The containment policy consists of three elements, it is of paramount importance that Europe is safe and it will be necessary to strengthen the defense and containment policy. According to the latest data, our technique and contingency have tripled in Eastern Europe, which is the result of our partnership. We will be more secure if our neighbors feel safe and stable. Georgia is an aspirant country but for many years it is our friend and partner, "- said James Appathurai.
Georgia"`s integration in NATO, security and armed forces are discussed at the Defense and Security Conference in Batumi. The event is attended by the Commander-in-Chief, Head of Government, Defense Minister and other high-ranking guests.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Mikheil Janelidze noted that the meeting focused on the challenges of the region and Georgia`s role in this process.
