Four days before the elections, members of one of the most influential international observation mission - NDI are already in Georgia. They will monitor the local self-government elections scheduled for October 21 throughout the country.
The delegation consists of politicians, civil leaders, election experts and region specialists. They are primarily interested in the use of administrative resources and possible facts of pressure on the voters.
"The main problems that have been identified in the past are possible cases of using administrative resources, intimidation attempts, questions about the appointment of some members of the electoral commission and the financing of pre-election campaigns," - said Laura Thornton, director of the NDI"s Georgian office.
