Policymakers and experts react to the depreciation of the national currency. The ruling team demands explanations from the National Bank.

The statement was made by Levan Koberidze.

"Economic factors are positive, political factors have been positive and nothing unexpected has happened. The ruling team won the elections,quite convincingly. Accordingly, the umexpected sharp devaluation of lari several days before the elections is in the National Bank`s competence and it is its obligation to intervene and make a statement, "- said Levan Koberidze.

The members of the opposition linked lari devaluation to the election results. They say this is a signal for business that the economy is sliding back in the country.

The opposition says that the drop in the Lari course will likely increase tariffs.

Experts say that the tourism season is over, and in the pre-election period a large amount of money has been spent.
