Today is the second round of elections --Mayor of Kutaisi and five self-governing cities will be elected todays. Elections are being held in Martvili, Borjomi, Ozurgeti, Khashuri and Kazbegi. 6 election subjects are participating in the elections, one of which is nominated by 2 initiative groups.
In Kutaisi and Martvili "National Movement" refused to take part in the second round, accordingly, the candidates of "Georgian Dream" are unconditional leaders, but according to the electoral legislation, the candidates who passed to the second place are still in ballot papers.
The election process is underway for two hours already in more than 300 precincts. The first briefing has been held at the Central Election Commission.
According to Georgia’s Central Election Commission, 37 914 voters have already made their choices. It means 11.55% of the voters have already participated in the elections.
As reported, 922 voters arrived at Kazbegi polling station out of 5 313; 5 646 voters made their choices out of 48 963 in Khashuri; 4 826 out of 26 529 in Borjomi.
As for self-governing city Kutaisi, 9 409 voters out of 152 546 have already arrived at the polling stations. 13372 people have already voted in Ozurgeti out of 62 274 and 3 739 out of 32 647 in Martvili.
