According to the reports regarding optimization of ministries, instead of existing 18, only 14 will remain. Ministries of Economics and Energy are merged. The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources will be joined with the Ministry of Agriculture and Economy.
The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs will be annulled and become part of the Ministry of Culture will be annulled and the second part will become part of the Ministry of Education.
Presumably, the position of the State Minister for Euro-Atlantic Integration will be annuled and the direction will be managed by the Foreign Ministry.
Finance Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili is named as Head of the United Energy and Economy Minister. Kumsishvili, who returns to the Ministry of Economics will retain the position of the first Vice Prime Minister and will coordinate the government`s economic team.
Mamuka Bakhtadze, the head of "Georgian Railway", is named as Kamsishvili`s replacement for the position of Finance Minister.
Minister of Economy Giorgi Gakharia will leave the post of Minister of Internal Affairs and take over Giorgi Mghebrishvili"s portfolio. The current head of the law enforcement agency, presumably will head a new agency which will unite the Crisis Management Board and the Emergency Situations Agency.
Ilia Eloshvili, the current energy minister, will presumably become vice-mayor. The newly elected Mayor of Tbilisi will present his team today and it is clear that Eloshvili will work in Tbilisi City Hall.
Aleksandre Jejelava, the education minister, is expected to resign. Who will replace the current minister is unknown.
