First session of the City Council underway in Tbilisi

The first session of the 6th convocation of the City Council has started. the MPs approved the chairperson and his deputies today. Tamar Zhvania, the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission opened the session.

Zhvania informed Sakrebulo members about results of self-government elections in 2017.

Giorgi Tkemaladze is nominated for the position of the City Council Chairperson, Giorgi Akhvlediani will be the first deputy, Marika Darchia and Davit Ujmajuridze will be deputies as well.

There are 11 commissions in Tbilisi City Council, however, according to MPs, structural reorganization is planned and some commission will unite.

The Georgian Dream has won 40 mandates in Tbilisi City Council, Five mandates for United National Movement, three- "European Georgia" and two- Alliance of Patriots".
