The United States has decided to sell Jevelin type missile systems and equipment to Georgia. The Georgian side has addressed Washington with this request. The State Department has supported this request, and the Defense Security Cooperation Agency informed the Congress about the alleged sale of weapons.
Besides 410 Javelin missiles, the deal includes 72 Javelin command launch units, 10 basic skills trainers and up to 70 simulated rounds, price of which is 75 mln USD
The official statement reads that this deal will help to improve Georgia"s security.
"This fact confirms the existence of strong strategic relations between the two countries and emphasizes a high level of mutual trust. , "said Lela Chikovani, First Deputy Defense Minister of Georgia.
