The delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe met with Giorgi Margvelashvili at the President"s Palace.

As the head of the president"s administration Giorgi Abashishvili stated after the meeting, the questions of the members of the delegation touched upon the Constitution and whether it ensured the balance system in state institutions.

"The question was asked how the existing constitution guarantees the democratic development of the country, to what extent the constitution provides the balance of the system and the functioning of state institutions. Obviously, the President"s position has been fixed on the issue and it is very disappointing that we are moving towards one-party decision making at this stage, "said Giorgi Abashishvili, the head of the president"s administration.

He also said that the topic of the conversation was also a kidnapping of Azerbaijani journalist Afgan Mukhtarli. According to Giorgi Abashishvili, the members of the delegation expressed great concern about this issue.

"The President of Georgia once again noted that Mr. Mukhtarli`s case was our big shame," Abashishvili said.
