"Unfortunately, Moldova and Georgia are experiencing a setback from the angle of achievements" - EPP President

President of the party made a statement about the declaration made by the European People"s Party regarding the future of the Eastern Partnership.

The document published on the official web site of the party says that the European People"s Party will continue to work closely with the Eastern Partnership countries in the framework of the Eastern Partnership Plus model.

"Unfortunately, many achievements in Moldova and Georgia are experiencing a setback and Ukraine has to enhance its fight against corruption.
EPP believes that the rule of law, democratisation, reforms, independent justice and the fight against corruption remain key preconditions for the EU’s deeper engagement with all EaP partners in order to ensure a prosperous future for the young generation in those countries., "the statement reads.

The "European People"s Party" also expresses strong support for the territorial integrity of the countries and shares the united position of EU member states with respect to Russia.
