"We confirm that there are too many questions that will be answered by the investigation," Zurab Pataradze, the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, said in connection with the fire in Batumi.

Members of Adjara government have arrived at Hotel Leogrand, however, no details of the investigation have yet been reported.
According to the Chair of the Adjara Government, the Leogrand hotel had earlier been fined by the corresponding agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs due to non-observance of fire regulations. As for the Tourism Department, it issued only recommendation.

"The Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs fined the hotel. As for the Tourism Department, this was a different case, which included only recommendation and it was issued last year," said Zurab Pataridze.
