"The Strasbourg Court is the body casting doubt on whose decision is probably not right ," Nino Lomjaria, a candidate for the Ombudsman, made this statement after the publication of the Strasbourg Court`s decision. According to the decision of the European Court, violation of Article 18 in Merabishvili`s case remained in force.

Lomjaria notes that the Public Defender`s Office should have a clear position regarding this issue.

"This is a very sensitive issue from the political point of view, so the Ombudsman"s office should have very well-grounded and argued positions on these issues," -said Nino Lomjaria.
