Tbilisi Mayor starts radical changes in the government of the capital.The so-called zonal council of Tbilisi City Hall will be annulled, - Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said at the governmental meeting.

According to Kaladze, the functions of the zonal council will be implemented by the City Hall services.

The opposition thinks that by canceling the zonal councils Kakhi Kaladze has given all the power to his team in the City Hall. Members of the City Council think that instead of politically motivated decisions, Kaladze should staff councils with competent and independent specialists.

In addition, Kaladze dismissed 19 commission created during Davit Narmania"s autority.
“We are annulling 19 commissions functioning under the City Hall in order to reduce bureaucracy, ensure timely decision-making and increase effectiveness”, said Kaladze.
Discussions about the structural changes announced by Kakhi Kaladze will be held at the next sitting of Sakrebulo. The opposition does not support these amendments.
