In Spain, 19 citizens of Georgia were detained as a result of a special operation. Special operation was held in several places at the same time in order to detain members of the criminal group in Catalonia and Madrid. A total of 23 people are detained. The detained people are members of the group of the criminal authority Kakha Shushanashvili.

Among the detainees is the wife of criminal authority Kakha Shushanashvili. She is charge with money laundering.

According to preliminary information, the criminal group was mainly involved in robbery and money laundering. According to the investigation, the detainees had registered carrier company, through which the stolen items were sold in different countries, including supposedly in Georgia.

The Spanishmedia has already assessed the special operation as a fight against the Georgian mafia.
