The meeting of Yuri Lucensko and the Deputy Prosecutor General of Georgia Giorgi Gogadze where Mikheil Saakashvili"s extradition was allegedly discussed is assessed in Kiev,

Viktor Shishkin, the First Prosecutor of Ukraine, commented on this issue. He does not rule out that during the meeting the extradition of Mikheil Saakashvili was discussed.

"Now we can not say exactly what they were discussing at the meeting because they did not release the information about it, but I do not exclude the issue of extradition of Mr. Saakashvili, you know that our government is acting in an unlawful way and I can not understand that, "- said Viktor Shishkin.

According to attorney Darina Tolkak., Mikheil Saakashvili requested additional protection from Ukraine and in this case, by the Ukrainian law, it is impossible to expel or extradite a person from the country.

We would like to remind you that the Ukraine"s Chief Prosecutor"s Office has confirmed the information regarding discussing the extradition issue at the meeting.

The meeting was held on January 12, but the information was spread only today. In addition, Saakashvili"s surname is not mentioned in the official statement.

Ukrainian media presumes that the issue of negotiations was extradition of Mikheil Saakashvili to Georgia.
