Sen. John McCain issued a statement praising President Trump"s decision to strike Syria as punishment for the chemical weapons attack. But McCain also called on Trump to set a "comprehensive strategy" in both Syria and the Middle East.

"I applaud President Donald Trump for taking military action against the Assad regime, and I want to thank British and French allies for their participation in these actions, in order to achieve success in the long run, we need a comprehensive strategy on Syria and the entire region," McCain wrote.

Today, at the dawn, an international coalition comprising the United States, France and Great Britain hit a number of targets in Syria.
