More than half of the citizens think that the court, the prosecutor"s office, the MIA and the State Security Service serve the interests of the ruling party - the NGO "Transparency International-Georgia" says.
The NGO interviewed 1800 people across the country. During the survey, the members of the organization were interested toexamine the confidence in public institutions.
The study showed that citizens have little trust in the Parliament, the judiciary and the law enforcement agencies.
In addition, according to the survey, the population thinks that the level
of corruption in the country is high.
"The confidence of the Parliament and the Court is very low, accordingly 17 and 20% of the surveyed citizens trust these institutions . More than half of the citizens think that the court, the prosecutor"s office, the MIA and the State Security Service serve the interests of the ruling party, which is of course a disturbing indicator, "said Erekle Urushadze, representative of Transparency International Georgia.
