Electricity consumption in Georgia has reached historical maximum due to strong heat. According to the "Electricity System of Georgia", a total of 920 MW consumption was recorded, which is record high for the summer period after 80-ies.

The department explains that this indicator is significantly higher than last year"s similar period.

"12% growth was observed. Annual growth was 5-6% increase. If the tendency continues the next year, we should take into account excessive consumption, "said Levan Aitsuradze, Head of the Operational Management Department of the Georgian State Electrosystem.
