They faced the disaster all night in Lower Ponichala. Heavy rain flooded the river and water flowed from the riverbed. The first floors and yards of the houses were flooded.

The river water flooded village of Mtisdziri and Giganti settlement, as well as created problems at Krtsanisi military base.

The exact amount of loss is unknown, and the local population has not been evacuated.
