"Doctors tell me that I"m lucky ..." - Russian tourist, who was struck by lligtening on the glacier, recalls the details of the incident

A Russian citizen was struck by lligtening on the glacier at Stepantsminda. Rescue helicopter failed to transfer the Russian tourist to clinic and evacuation was carried out by a private aircraft. At this time, Russian citizen is being treated at Stepantsminda Hospital.

"We were seven-eight people from Russia, we were on the peak. Two of us were already up, we were 10 meters away, but I do not remember what happened, when I was brought to the camp I was on the edge of death, I could not walk, I stayed in the tent overnight, helicopter just arrived the next day. Doctors tell me that I"m lucky," -says Vladimir Popov.

At the hospital, the condition of the patient was assessed as stable.Russian tourists will leave for Moscow on July 26.
