Riot police were mobilized in Chuberi and Khaishi in order to ensure the safety of the investigative service employees. The Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance disseminates this information.

According to the agency, law enforcers intensively conduct activities to reveal illegal logging.

"At this stage, investigative activities are conducted in Imereti, Adjara, Kakheti, Guria, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, Shida Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti regions.

In the frames of these activities, illegal timber processing and illegal sellers of timber production will be revealed. Similar measures are taken in the villages of Chuberi and Khaishi, where locals hinder the investigative personnel to carry out their duties.

The investigation is in progress under the Articles 210, 192, 287 Prima and 303 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, "the statement reads.
