Giorgi Margvelashvili is expected to announce the date of presidential elections at the end of the week. After the formal confirmation of the day of voting, the electoral regime will be implemented in the country and electoral regulations will be launched. "Georgian Dream" is convinced that Giorgi Margvelashvili delays the election day deliberately, because he does not yet know whether he will participate in the elections himself.

The opposition with "Georgian Dream" is criticizing the country"s first person . Though the date is unknown, part of the election campaign has already begun.

The ruling party is refusing to announce its own decision on the presidential candidate but the party leaders openly confirm that "Georgian Dream" will not have its own candidate and will support independent candidate Salome Zourabichvili.

The opposition has already called Bidzina Ivanishvili"s political trick the support of Salome Zourabichvili"s candidacy. Opponents of the government say today that the candidate supported by the ruling party cannot be independent. Presidential candidates say that Bidzina Ivanishvili deceives the international community with this decision.

NDI office of Georgia is also waiting for the election date. Laura Thornton says that after this it will be clear who will be the candidate of the "Georgian Dream" and whether he or she is going to take part in the elections.
