More than 600 000 000 citizens will be removed from blacklist until December 31, and their debts will be annuled - PM

More than 600 000 citizens will be removed from the blacklist until 31 December, the Prime Minister said at a special briefing today.

According to Mamuka Bakhtadze, debts of those citizens who have liabilities of up to 2000 GEL and are in the blacklist will be annulled. The process will start on December 15 and end on December 31.

"Almost 95% of the debts indicated in the blacklist consist of loans, whose base amount does not exceed 2000 GEL. It is about financial obligation of over 600,000 citizens. Debts of banks, online organizations or various financial institutions, which sums up to a billion and a half dollars in total, "said PM Mamuka Bakhtadze.

According to the Prime Minister, the agreement has already been reached with private banks, but negotiations continue.

According to Mamuka Bakhtadze, Bank "Cartu" is a significant contributor to this decision.
