The European Commission expresses concern over increasing number of asylum seekers from Georgia.The statement on the fulfillment of the terms of visa liberalization by the Georgia side was published on the website of the European Commission, which states the number of requests for unspecified claims of asylum from the Georgian citizens has increased which causes concern.
Brussels also said that visa-free travel benefits both Europe and its partners, but they are also responsible for maintaining the progress that the sides have achieved during negotiations on visa liberalization.
"I welcome that partner countries continue to fulfill their obligations, but I urge the efforts to stop unregulated migration and fight corruption and organized crime," said EU Commissioner Dimitri Avramapopoulos.
