A special representative of Georgia"s PM comments on a statement of the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.

Grigory Karasin has explained that Abashidze raised the issues, which Bidzina Ivanishvili assigned him to raise during consultations.

Abashidze says that the main topic of negotiations was trade and economic relations and the situation in the occupied territories.

Zurab Abashidze confirmed the meeting with Bidzina Ivanishvili in a telephone interview with "Courier". The Prime Minister"s Special Representative considers that Ivanishvili is the chairman of the "Georgian Dream" party and should have information on important topics, including Georgia-Russia relations.

Abashidze says he has met Ivanishvili by his initiative and has not agreed on specific messages with him.

According to Abashidze, Karasin was interested, why Georgian media was interested in Ivanishvili"s involvement. According to the Prime Minister"s Special Representative, he told the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia that the ruling party"s chairman should be informed about the ongoing dialogue in Prague and it is a normal phenomenon.
