The assistance of a citizen of Georgia in illegal staying in a foreign country becomes punishable. The initiator is the parliamentary majority and the amendments to the Criminal Code have already been presented in Parliament.
According to the draft law, the sentence envisages from 2 to 4 years of imprisonment for similar acts. Also, the aggravating circumstance is committing the offense by a group of two or more persons using fake documents.In this case, the offense will be punished with imprisonment from 3 to 6 years.
