State Audit Office publishes the conclusion on domestic violence and prevention mechanisms in Georgia.The controlling body has studied the number of social workers and statistics of their work loading .
According to the results, prevention mechanism for domestic violence in Georgia is almost non-existant, and the reason is a small number of social workers, which is almost one hundred times less than the norms adopted by the world practice.
According to the report, if 772 social workers serve 100,000 people in Slovenia, there are only 7 social workers in Georgia. Number of social workers is reduced every year.Please note that due to systemic problems, social workers are preparing for a massive strike from March 25.The State Audit Report also states that in 2017, the number of cases of domestic violence increased 2 times compared to 2013.
