The strike of social workers continues for a week already. Their requirements remain unchanged - improvement of working conditions and delivering effective services to beneficiaries.

NGOs support the strike of social workers claiming that the Health Ministry should be responsible for such situation.

The civil sector believes that the problem should be solved with the involvement of executive authorities w. The NGOs advise the government to use the reserve fund to solve problems.

"The Ministry should be well aware of the role of social workers and their role throughout this system where we have to work. hThe Ministry of Health should have an active communication with the Parliament and they should put together a real solution, "said Sulkhan Saladze, chairman of the Georgian Young Lawyers" Association.

According to the executive director of the NGO "Partnership for Human Rights", the problem is not in the lack of finances, but the absence of political will.
