Freedom of speech and current challenges - IDFI and Georgian-European Institute will hold a conference. They will talk about the recent statements made by the leaders of the ruling team regarding the stricter punishment for defamation. NGOs indicate that freedom of expression prohibits such restrictions. According to the NGOs, interference in the editorial policy of media outlets is unacceptable and they will focus on Rustavi 2 as well.
"What we have recently heard from the politicians about "Rustavi 2": is dangerous ," said Giorgi Kldiashvili, executive director of IDFI.
