Access to the road, which leads to Davit Gareji monastery is opened until May 15. The border guards of Azerbaijan said in an interview with Courier that they will let people get to the Monastery only for the Easter. After May 15 they are going to close the road again.
After 4-day restrictions, the Azeri side allowed the pilgrims to come to the David Gareji"s cave.
Azeri law enforcers still control the situation on the ground. Speaking to media, they say that restrictions have been lifted in relation to the Easter holiday.
Speaking of the reasons for imposing restrictions, the border guards focus on Salome Zourabichvili"s visit to David Gareji, which took place on April 20.
