It is prohibited to use Communist and Fascist ideology symbols- MIA warns rally participants on May 9

The Ministry of Internal Affairs warns participants of the demonstration dedicated to May 9. The statement released by the agency says that the police will act in accordance with the law in relation to all the persons whose actions go beyond the freedom of expression and the requirements of the law.
The MIA also explains that the law prohibits the use of communist totalitarian and fascist ideology and propaganda means.
"In connection with demonstrations planned on May 09, in Tbilisi and other regions of Georgia, we want to inform the public that the Ministry of Internal Affairs will ensure the protection of the law at the gathering places. In addition, the police will act in accordance with the law in respect to all the persons whose actions go beyond the freedom of expression and the requirements of the law.We remind the public that according to the Georgian law - "Freedom Charter", it is prohibited to use the means of propaganda of the communist totalitarian and fascist ideology. Consequently, we call on everyone to act in compliance with the law requirements, otherwise the police will carry out the actions determined by the Georgian legislation, "the statement reads.
