Elizabeth Rood, the acting US ambassador to Georgia, responds to the harsh statements made by Russian lawmakers in Luxembourg.
Representatives of the Russian delegation at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly distinguished themselves with aggressive statements and declared that the occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali will never return to Georgia.
In response to these statements, Elizabeth Rood once again reiterated that the US supports Georgia"s territorial integrity. According to her, Abkhazia and Tskhinvali are integral parts of Georgia.
The US Chargé d’Affaires urged Russia to take back the recognition of the independence of the so-called "occupied territories".
"Some MPs may say this but it is not true, the regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia are an integral part of Georgia, and the US strongly supports Georgia"s territorial integrity and the US calls on Russia to fulfill the ceasefire agreement and take back the recognition of these regions" - said Elizabeth Rood. 
Elizabeth Rudd also commented on the ongoing rallies at the parliament and said that the US is watching the current events. According to Rood, everyone has freedom of peaceful assembly and expression.
