In the year 2019, the economy of Georgia will be reduced by 2 billion lari - tourism administration


The penalty that Putin has imposed for the Georgian people because of the expulsion of Gavrilov - according to the Tourism Administration, due to the Russian tourist embargo, the economy of Georgia will loose up to 2 billion lari in 2019.

The head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration says that due to sanctions, the country will no longer have one million Russian tourists until the end of the year.
In parallel to the embargo, an information campaign launched against Georgia started in Russia. The authorities say that the situation is quite difficult, but there is no concrete solution yet.
"By the end of 2019, we had to calculate that a million 700,000 Russian citizens were traveling to Georgia for tourist purposes. According to the data of the first 6 months of 2019, 700 thousand Russian citizens have already entered, accordingly today we have a challenge, it is about a million tourists that economically translates into two billion lari, "said Mariam Kvrivishvili.
