Minister of Internal Affairs met with family members and comrades of police officers killed in August war. Giorgi Gakharia laid a wreath on the memorial of the fallen servicemen in the yard of the Ministry and paid tribute to their memory.

During the August war, 14 Interior Ministry and 5 Coast Guard personnel were killed. The ministry provided material assistance to the family of 19 employees.

“Our primary duty is to take care of their families and their children, which we at MIA try to do every year. It is the smallest thing we can do in memory of these men and in honor of their families. Every year we try to pay attention to their children, their spouses, their parents and with them we mourn , ”Giorgi Gakharia said.
