Tbilisi City Hall will buy new subway cars. The mayor of the capital made this statement at today"s cabinet meeting.
According to Kakha Kaladze, negotiations for financial support are underway with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Buying 40 new carriages will cost the Tbilisi government about 60 million. According to Kaladze, there are wagons that are no longer subject to rehabilitation and need to be replaced: "Since the subway was reopened, there have been no such rehabilitations in the Tbilisi subway”.
According to the mayor, the project should be implemented within three years.
