Price of electricity increases

The cost of electricity is expected to increase by 2 tetri for a million of customers in the region . The application for the tariff adjustment was presented by the "Energo- pro Georgia" (EPG) at the meeting with the representatives of the regulatory commission. The company explained the neccessity of the tariff change by increased cost of the purchased power.

Whether the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission will meet the "EPG" requirement will be decided by September 10.

The Ministry of Energy does not rule out the increase of tariff. However, the Ministry talks of the several factors which may in the future balance the tariff policy.

The opposition explains the increase of power tariff by the incorrect economic policy of the government . The ruling party is sure that there will be no change in the consumer tariff.
