Residents of Varketili are protesting the construction of a block in the square and demand a meeting with the mayor.

Patrol police are mobilized at the place.

Locals say the construction is illegal and they are asking the Tbilisi City Hall to offer the investor another area.

The Tbilisi City Hall says that everything is legal and that construction is planned not in the square, but only in the surrounding area.
