Vazha Siradze, the Head of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia calls on the protesters not to picket the central entrance of the Parliament.
According to him, the patrol police will ensure law and order protection. He did not confirm information about arresting protesters.
“We will not limit the freedom of speech. They can hold a rally in a calm environment. If the public disobeys the police orders, appropriate measures will be taken”, - said Siradze.
Protesters are planning to picket the building of the Parliament. Giga Makarashvili, one of the organizers of the rally, said lawmakers would not be allowed to leave the building.
The Parliament has rejected the bill on constitutional amendments relating to the electoral system in the first reading.
