The leadership of the Georgian Parliament assured me that the electoral reform would pass - the Head of USAID"s European Bureau

USAID Deputy Director for Europe and Eurasia Bureau Brock Burman criticizes the failure of the bill on the proportional electoral system.

As Burman writes on twitter, the leadership of the Georgian Parliament has persuaded him that Georgia will move to a proportional system:

“In September visit to Tbilisi, Georgia Parliamentary leadership assured me constitutional and electoral reforms would pass. Georgian Dream hasn"t delivered on its public commitment to proportional elections in 2020. Reform, political pluralism now even more critical”, - wrote Burman.
