Giorgi Kokhreidze has been appointed to the post of director of Adjara Public Broadcaster, with 3 members of the advisory board having given him a vote of confidence.

The second round proved mandatory to name a winner, since in the first, the votes were shared between three candidates: Giorgi Kokhreidze, Piruz Bolkvaze and Maia Merkviladze.

At the first stage of the voting the votes were distributed as follows: Giorgi Kokhreidze - 2 votes, Maia Merkviladze – 1 and Piruz Bolkvadze also 1.

This decision was not unexpected for most Adjara TV and radio staff as well as acting director of the television.

According to them, the board was loyal to the Georgian Dream and Giorgi Kokhreidze is thought to be a candidate for the ruling party.

Totally 10 candidates participated in the competition.
