Opposition said the MIA statistics on criminal situation was rigged

The Interior Ministry has published the statistics of crime in the last 3 months.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs also publishes such statistics according to the MIA territorial units.

In January-March of 2015, 8970 criminal cases were registered by all investigative agencies of Georgia, out of which 4697 cases were solved. Case-solving index is 52.36%. In comparison with the same period of the previous year the level of crime decreased by 15.24%. The Interior Minister says that the presented data reflects not only crimes known to the MIA, but also combines information from all of the country’s investigative agencies, including structural units within various ministries, which investigate criminal cases.
