Civil Movement and Change have organized a rally demanding the resignation of Erekle Kukhianidze, the deputy of Tbilisi City Assembly.

Activists are protesting the statement made by Kukhianidze regarding Vazha Gaprindashvili. He accused the doctor’s family in the provocation and called them “idiots”.

The rally participants symbolically brought a rubbish bin, with the picture of the deputy on it.

Aleko Elisashvili, an independent deputy, wants to meet with Giorgi Tkemaladze, the Chairman of the Tbilisi City Assembly, to find out when Kukhianidze is planning to resign.

“We categorically demand his resignation. Kukhianidze should resign with its own statement. He insulted each of us and the family of Vazha Gaprindashvili. He has neither moral, political nor human right to remain in Tbilisi City Council”, - said Aleko Elisashvili.

At the same time, opposition of Sakrebulo plans to start the procedure for dismissal of Kukhianidze – they need 10 MPs.
