Lawyers gathered in support of Vazha Gaprindashvili, a doctor detained by the Tskhinvali occupation regime. According to them, they have the expectation that Vazha Gaprindashvili will be released at the so-called trial scheduled for tomorrow.

Human rights defenders have appealed to the international community of lawyers, including Russian colleagues, to support the release of Vazha Gaprindashvili.

“Both the profession of doctor and lawyer are based on the principles of humanity and we, Georgian lawyers, have decided to hold a solidarity action in support of Vazha Gaprindashvili. The so called trial is scheduled for tomorrow. Accordingly, there are all procedural preconditions for his release”, - said David Asatiani, the President of the Bar Association.

Family members of the doctor also participate in the rally.

“I hope that tomorrow my dad will return home and this 41-day nightmare will end”, - said the daughter of the doctor, Tata Gaprindashvili.
